This policy covers the ChrossX Windows app, the website at chrossx.io, and support provided by ChrossX. For support or privacy questions, contact contact@chrossx.io.
Information in the Windows app
ChrossX does not require a ChrossX account and does not include advertising, analytics, or automatic reporting to us. The app does not upload your crosshair settings or drawings.
- Local settings: crosshair styles, saved pixel drawings, colors, size, selected display, and overlay preferences are stored on your device so they remain available when you reopen the app.
- Local diagnostics: when an error occurs, the app may write a diagnostic log on your device. Logs may include error details and local file paths, which can contain your Windows user name. Logs are not automatically sent to ChrossX.
- Information you choose to share: we receive screenshots, logs, or other app information only if you send them to us, for example when asking for support.
You can remove locally stored settings and diagnostic files from the app's data folder after closing ChrossX. Removing settings also removes your saved customizations. Uninstalling the Microsoft Store app normally removes its local app data; a separate standalone copy may leave its settings folder behind.
Microsoft Store purchases
Purchases of the Microsoft Store version take place through Microsoft Store, rather than through checkout on this website. Microsoft handles payment, account information, and Store delivery under its own terms and Microsoft Privacy Statement.
The ChrossX app does not collect payment-card details, Microsoft account passwords, or billing information. We may view sales and distribution reports that Microsoft makes available to publishers; this does not give the app access to your payment details. If you send an order reference to support, we use it to help with your request. Please do not send card details or passwords.
Previous launch notification requests
Launch signups are now closed. If you previously signed up, your email address and contact creation timestamp are stored with Resend for the launch notification and $0.99 lifetime offer you requested. Signing up did not make a purchase or create an app account.
You can withdraw your signup or request deletion by emailing contact@chrossx.io. We keep the list for the launch notification and related offer follow-up, or until you ask us to remove your information. See Resend's privacy policy for information about our provider.
Support information
If you email contact@chrossx.io, we receive your email address, your message, and any name, attachments, or technical information you choose to include. We use this information to respond, troubleshoot problems, and keep track of the support conversation. Review screenshots and logs before sharing them and remove information that is not needed for your request.
Website visits and browser storage
Our website hosting provider, Vercel, may process technical request information such as IP addresses, requested pages, browser or device details, and timestamps to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the website.
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand website traffic through aggregated reports, including page views, referring sites, approximate location, and browser and device types. This integration does not use analytics cookies. We remove query parameters and URL fragments from page URLs before sending analytics events. We do not send your crosshair drawings, selected colors, or other demo settings to analytics.
The website stores your light or dark theme preference and interactive demo settings, including custom crosshair drawings and colors, in your browser's local storage. These demo settings stay in your browser and are not sent to us. You can remove them using your browser's site-data controls. The website does not embed advertising pixels. Microsoft Store and other external websites have their own privacy and browser-storage practices when you follow their links.
Use, sharing, and protection
We do not sell personal information or use support messages for advertising. Hosting and email service providers process the information needed to deliver the website and support communications. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to address fraud, security incidents, or legal claims.
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process support information to provide requested assistance and, where applicable, fulfill our obligations to you. Operating and securing the website relies on our legitimate interests, balanced against your rights. We may also retain information to meet legal obligations.
We use HTTPS for the website. App settings and diagnostics remain in your Windows user profile and are subject to your device's access controls; they are not separately encrypted by ChrossX. Avoid including sensitive information in support messages.
Retention and service providers
Local settings remain until you remove them or the app's data is removed. Diagnostic logs rotate as they grow, retaining the current log and one previous log. We keep support correspondence for as long as needed to handle the request and related follow-up, resolve disputes, or meet applicable legal obligations. You can contact us to request deletion.
Hosting and email providers may process information outside your country. Their processing locations, retention, and applicable transfer arrangements depend on the services they provide. Microsoft independently determines retention for its Store and account services under its privacy statement.
Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold, request a portable copy, restrict processing, or object to certain uses. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. Contact contact@chrossx.io; we may need to verify that the request concerns your information.
We cannot access app data that remains solely on your device. Requests concerning information held independently by Microsoft should be directed to Microsoft through its privacy and account controls.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page and its revision date when the app or our information-handling practices change.
